SPORTS BETS BETWEEN BENEFITS AND PLAYER'S ADDICTION

PARIURILE SPORTIVE ÂNTRE BENEFICII ȘI DEPENDENÈšA JUCĂTORULUI

Abstract

The paper treats the phenomenon known as "sports bets", in fact a part of a gambling industry that has been developing lately with more or less beneficial consequences. Analyzing the economic benefits, the behavioral arrangements of a leisure time, and the social implications of game addiction, the article offers a self-education and a non-formal educational perspective addressing to this phenomenon. In the opinion of the authors, the knowledge and awareness of the applications of probability mechanisms by those involved in sports bets leads to balanced behaviors in the gambling.

 Rezumat

Articolul tratează fenomenul  cunoscut sub denumirea de "pariuri sportive", în fapt o industrie ce se dezvoltă în ultimul timp cu consecințe mai mult sau mai puțin benefice. Analizând beneficiile economice, cele comportametale de petrecere agreabilă a timpului liber, dar și implicațiile sociale generate de dependența de joc, autorii oferă o perspectivă de natură auto-educativă și educativă non-formală în abordarea acestui fenomen. Ân opinia autorilor, cunoașterea și conștientizarea aplicațiilor mecanismelor de probabilitate de către cei implicați în pariurile sportive, determină comportamente echilibrate în joc.
